A Family Ranch With a Slow-Grown Herd
What started as one curious heifer purchased on a weekend road trip has grown into a small, intentional herd of registered miniature Highland cattle.
One Curious Heifer at a Time
We never set out to be the biggest operation — we set out to be one families could trust. That meant building the kind of ranch where every animal gets named, every birth gets watched, and every calf goes home to people we’ve actually talked to.
Years and many fence repairs later, the herd is still small on purpose. The cows know us by voice. The calves are bottle-greeted and pasture-raised. And the work is still ours, every day.
Temperament, Health, Then Conformation
We breed for three things, in that exact order. A pretty cow with a sour disposition isn’t doing anyone any favors, especially the family bringing her home. So we cull hard for nervous bloodlines and keep only the calm, curious, people-oriented animals that make Highlands the breed everyone falls for.
Our calves are halter-trained early. They’re handled daily. They learn that humans bring food, scratches, and good things. By the time you meet your calf, the hard work of building trust has already been done.
The Relationship Doesn’t End at Pickup
We’re a phone call away for the life of your animal. Vet questions, hoof trims, breeding advice, fencing recommendations — we’ve been there, and we want you to succeed. Our reputation lives or dies with how your calf does in your hands.
